Do you really think that after WWII was won by the Allies and the Cold War was won by the USA, Satan just crawled back to Hell like “all right boys, we’ve lost forever and ever, it’s time to give up now?” Do you really think there’s only one kind of trick evil can try that can be iterated again and again and you’d always recognize it by its obviousness? Do you really think that during the days of creation, the Devil was making all the evil things in exactly the form they exist in now in fixed forms with no changes for the rest of time? Do you really think people don’t have the ingenuity to keep coming up with entirely new and different ideologies of atrocity, and that furthermore, all of them would diffuse predominantly through university philosophy courses so everyone would hear of them and dissect them and become immediately aware of their implications?

Maybe the Holocaust is the worst thing that’s happened in history or maybe it’s not, but either way, do you really think the legions of Hell wouldn’t try to one-up it with something completely different? So why do you always look for someone you don’t like to be Hitler, or Stalin, or Mao, or Mussolini, or Pol Pot? Why don’t you think there wouldn’t be some new kind of abomination, even if it’s really just a variation on something more obscure and previously marginal? Once mammals were small, and then they became mammoths, insects were gigantic, but then they shrunk down. Why do you think a takeover by the powers of the abyss would just be 20th Century: Electric Boogaloo? Are you so eager for the Devil you know as you flail in the dark against the real encroaching plague? Has your imagination been so limited that you can no longer see what’s right in front of your eyes? Are you really consenting to Hell performing a little magic show and destroying everything you think and are because you don’t know how to face the world around you?

Maybe you should step back for a while and see what’s really going on, and stop pointing fingers at everyone and calling them Hitler while your civilization disappears.
