Oh, I’d say it wasn’t much of a rabbit hole for me personally since I already knew what the Antikythera Mechanism was from Guild Wars 2 and Magic: the Gathering (as if the Guild Wars universe didn’t start as a way to use Magic: the Gathering lore without having their copyrights, hence all the elder dragons eating mana and things like the fact the necromancer and Mesmer are basically Liliana Vess and Jace Berelen, and basically all the original classes were just the different color planeswalkers.) This is one of many reasons I consider stories as the Urtyp for cognition in a way. All the weird things I learn I usually learn from stories. Maybe I should’ve referenced that in my article now along with your article, hmm. Getting out of the Babylonian state of mind.
