Thank you so much!

First, I will get this out of the way. (This is the only thing I can recall disagreeing with you on. Including anything I’ve ever read that you’ve written, which only covers about a month’s time.) On your comment about those “destroying our civilization”, I would have to say that, for a few of them, it could be biologically induced mental illness. (Chemical imbalance or insufficient nutrients.) But for most of them it is purely spiritual. Because they reject God and leave themselves open to demonic influence.

The only thing that I can contribute to your compendium is that I have some experience with amino acids. I took them for over a year with no problem. And this may be because I am 62 years old, but recently I had a serious problem with lightheadedness, frequently feeling like I was about to pass out. It turns out that the amino acids were the problem.

Also I’ve done some research on the amino acids. The study that I read concluded that if a person has a heart attack with heart muscle damage and then takes amino acids, they stop having a positive affect after about five or six months.

I mean I think if you leave yourself open to demonic influence you are also going to have physical problems and vice versa. Jesus healed a bunch of sick people, and people who are evil are also frequently called mentally ill. I think if you can improve yourself that’s also important to God because God doesn’t want you to get sick. I think a lot of people can’t understand ideas, they go in one ear and out the other because their brain is too dysfunctional, even though something simple like diet, exercise, supplements, or meditating could fix it and that’s their fault.

Satan wants us to believe that we can fix ourselves. And especially spiritually. Anything to keep us from turning to God. Yes. There are many common sense things that we should do. But for those whose minds are not working well, I wonder how much is their fault for not taking care of themselves physically.

As far as the spiritual question goes, the Bible tells us that everyone knows about God because of the world he created. It is therefore obvious to everyone there is a God. Those who don’t see it, don’t want to see it. We are strongly inclined to be our own god. We want to be in control. We want to say how we should run our lives.

Sure, but God still wants you to help yourself as well in my opinion. Does God want you to never clean your room, bathe, or wipe your own butt? The Bible says whoever does not work does not eat. I think God wants you to do things for yourself and that’s a lot of what work is about. It’s only by the grace of God you have what you worked for anyway, so working is also a way to get closer to God. God doesn’t just send angels to do everything for you. In fact, in the stories of Jesus’s miracles and the disciples’ miracles, there are only a few mentions of angels doing anything for anyone at all and most of them seem to come in in Paul’s epistles when the Christians were being attacked, angels would come in and defend them.

God is OK with us running a large portion of our lives. But it needs to be done with him in mind, with him being the controlling influence. Mostly he does not want us to be making other things to be God in our life instead of him. He said it himself. He is a jealous god. He gets to say what is what. After all he created everything. Therefore he owns everything. That is why he is God. He doesn’t have to love us. But he does. Even though we are constantly rebelling against him. But we only have this life to turn to his way rather than ours. I am not trying to be overly simplistic. Just trying to avoid being misunderstood. Just trying to offer food for thought.

Michaela, As I read your interactions with other people, I can see that you are absolutely brilliant. I am very impressed by you. I never had any kids, but. I wish I had a daughter like you. When you talk about spiritual issues, sometimes it seems like Satan has put a veil over your eyes. I am concerned for you. Jesus said no one is good except God. I am concerned that you may believe that you can be good enough on your own. That’s not what the Bible teaches. We all have to turn to God humbly. We have to have a spiritually intimate relationship with him on his terms. That’s the only thing that will save us in the end.

What does that have to do with taking care of yourself? If no one is good except God does that mean to stop bathing, stop eating healthy, stop working, etc.?

I’m sorry if I was too general in my comments. When I made my other comments, I assumed the issue was understood. So I moved on. Sorry for the assumption. Of course we need to take care of ourselves. I didn’t think that needed to be said directly. It seemed more like a rhetorical question. The only people who don’t take care of themselves, in my opinion, do not have the mental or physical capacity to do so.

I love binaural beats!!

I often feel tired in the afternoon, too. One exercise related strategy which has helped me immensely is to do some resistance training somewhere between 11:30 and 2pm on most days of the week. My nervous system is awake by then, but it's not so late in the day that I risk being too tired to train hard, either. This really helps me catch my second wind so I can face that afternoon wave of fatigue with more alertness.

Have you researched oxalates? I came across the work of Sally Norton and have been very intrigued by her claims.

This is pretty random, but there's a brand of non-toxic paints called ecos paints which sells a line of EMR/EMF paint that uses high quality nickel to block out wi-fi and 5G radiation. A sign of the times, lol. One of these days, I'll splurge on this for my bedroom and see if there is any meaningful change to my sleep quality and energy levels after a few weeks.

Great post!

Thanks a lot! I often feel tired in the morning, hence me sitting there with cut-in-half ping-pong balls ("Ganzfeld goggles") over my eyes listening to binaural beats laid over pink noise until my energy pumps from my reserves every so often.

I haven't researched oxalates or read about those paints, but I'll read about them now, thanks! Also seems relevant on the topic of nickel allergies, which are really bad, but those come from touching nickel, not from being around it. I don't think it flakes off like lead (the thing that makes lead so much worse than most heavy metals, for example "flake white" in old paintings or new paintings is lead white because lead falls off in flakes.) Metal allergies are due to ions I read, which I think is also related to what I said about the nervous system being electric.

Interesting compendium. Was unable to locate biological log K values but here is more info.

Comparing the chelating agents found in garlic with some of the best-known chelating agents for heavy metals involves looking at their stability constants (log K), which indicate the strength of the complex formed between the chelator and the metal ion. A higher log K value means a stronger, more stable complex.

Garlic Compounds:

Allicin and Other Sulfur Compounds: While specific log K values for allicin and other garlic sulfur compounds are not commonly reported in standard chelation literature, these compounds are known for their affinity towards certain heavy metals like lead and mercury. However, their chelation strength is generally considered to be lower than that of specialized chelating agents.

Well-known Chelating Agents:

EDTA (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid): EDTA is one of the most commonly used chelating agents. It has high log K values for many metals. For example, the log K value for the EDTA-Ca^2+ complex is around 10.7, and for the EDTA-Fe^3+ complex, it is around 25.1.

DMSA (Dimercaptosuccinic acid): DMSA is especially effective for lead and arsenic. The log K values for DMSA-metal complexes are generally high, indicating strong binding, but specific values can vary based on the metal ion.

Comparative Analysis:

Garlic's sulfur compounds are more of a dietary means of possibly reducing heavy metal accumulation, but they are not as strong or specific as synthetic chelators like EDTA or DMSA.

Synthetic chelators like EDTA and DMSA have been designed to have high stability constants with a wide range of metal ions, making them more effective for medical or industrial use in heavy metal chelation.

The effectiveness of garlic compounds in vivo (in a living organism) also depends on factors like bioavailability and metabolism, which are not as directly controlled as with synthetic chelators.

Ah, yes, but the article does state that the reason they consider garlic better is unrelated to log K values! Still an informative comment though!

Are you referring to ...”depends on factors like bioavailability and metabolism”?

Here is more on log K (and also oxalates).

Log K values, or logarithmic stability constants, are a measure of the stability of complexes formed between metal ions and ligands. In the context of oxalates binding with heavy metal atoms, these values indicate the strength of the chelation. Chelation is the process by which a ligand binds to metal ions, forming a stable complex.

Oxalates are known to be good chelating agents for many heavy metals, forming strong, stable complexes. The exact log K values vary depending on the specific metal ion. For example:

Copper (Cu²⁺) and Oxalate: The log K value for the complexation of copper with oxalate is typically high, indicating a strong and stable complex.

Iron (Fe³⁺) and Oxalate: Iron forms stable complexes with oxalates, with significant log K values.

Lead (Pb²⁺) and Oxalate: Lead also forms stable complexes with oxalates, indicated by high log K values.

It's important to note that these values are influenced by various factors such as pH, temperature, and the presence of other ions in the solution. For precise log K values for specific metal-oxalate complexes, detailed reference materials or databases on coordination chemistry should be consulted.

Overall, oxalates are effective chelators for many heavy metals, which is why they are often used in applications like metal extraction, water treatment, and in certain medical therapies. However, their effectiveness and safety in any given application depend on the specific conditions and the metal ions involved.

One more place where metal atoms and log K values are important.

Gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) are commonly used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to enhance the quality of the images. The log K value, or logarithmic stability constant, is a critical factor in understanding the safety and effectiveness of these contrast agents.

Log K Value in Gadolinium Chelates: The log K value for a gadolinium chelate reflects the stability of the complex formed between gadolinium ions (Gd³⁺) and the chelating agent. A higher log K value indicates a stronger binding affinity between the gadolinium ion and the chelator, leading to a more stable complex. This stability is crucial for minimizing the release of free gadolinium ions in the body, which can be toxic.

Importance of Stability: Free gadolinium ions are toxic because they can interfere with calcium ion channels and other biological processes. Stable gadolinium chelates reduce the risk of gadolinium deposition in tissues, which is a concern particularly in patients with impaired renal function. Patients with renal insufficiency are at higher risk of developing nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF), a serious condition, if exposed to less stable gadolinium compounds.

Types of Gadolinium Chelates: There are two main types of GBCAs - linear and macrocyclic. Macrocyclic agents typically have higher log K values, meaning they form more stable complexes with gadolinium. This makes them generally safer, particularly for patients with renal issues, as they are less likely to release free gadolinium ions.

Clinical Implications: The choice of a GBCA in clinical practice often considers the stability of the gadolinium chelate. Macrocyclic agents, due to their higher stability (higher log K values), are preferred in patients at higher risk for NSF. However, the overall risk of NSF with newer GBCAs is low, and the choice of agent may also consider other factors like image quality, patient history, and specific clinical needs.

Recent Concerns: Recent studies have shown that gadolinium deposits can occur in the brain and other tissues even in patients with normal renal function, leading to increased scrutiny of GBCA use. The stability of the gadolinium chelate (reflected in its log K value) is a key factor in this ongoing evaluation.
